- 41 Crafting
- 39 Runecrafting
- 39 Thieving
- 40 Defence
- 42 Smithing
- A hammer or golden hammer
- A chisel
- About 5 each of water, earth, air and fire runes.
- A knife (obtainable during quest)
- 2 primed bars
- A Pickaxe to mine Earth elementals (if you need to make the primed bars)
- 8 Pieces of coal (if you need to make the primed bars)
- Super restore to replenish drained Runecrafting and Thieving stats
Starting the Quest Start the quest by searching the northern bookcase on the ground floor of the Sorcerer's Tower to find a notched book. The tower is located directly south of the Seers' Village bank. On the floor next to the bookcase there is a knife if you need one. Read the book and head to the workshop adjacent to the bank. Once in the building, use a knife on the whetstone in the southeast corner of the room to create a keyblade. The keyblade will be necessary in order to access the cosmic and chaos parts of the workshop.
Search the odd wall and head down into the workshop. If you do not already have two primed bars, you will need to make them before continuing with the quest.
Making the primed barEdit Main article: Primed bar Each primed bar requires 4 pieces of coal and 1 elemental ore. Elemental ore may be obtained by killing an earth elemental in the western part of the workshop. Using the materials on the furnace in the southern portion of the workshop will result in an elemental bar. By processing the bar through the conveyor belt one level below, the elemental bar will turn into a primed bar. (for exact instructions, please see Elemental Workshop II)
Proceed into the bottom floor of the workshop, where the mind and body rooms are, and use the Keyblade on the door at the southern end of the hallway. You will lose the keyblade, but the door will be open permanently. After passing this go through the cosmic doors leading into the first room on your left (northeast). You will see a puzzle room with four raised pillars.
The idea behind this puzzle is to line up same-coloured circles in the pillars along a line and then shoot the appropriate rune energies through the coloured holes (Red = Fire, Blue = Water, Brown = Earth, White = Air). Think of it this way: you're shooting through holes in the pillars, but all lined-up hole colours must match the rune, or the shot will be stopped. Use the control panel in the south-east corner of the room to rotate the pillars so that the colours in them line up. Click on the dots representing the pillars and use the appropriate runes on the emitters along the north and east wall. Some will start with runes but the runes may not be correct. If so, just remove the runes by clicking on the emitters and add new ones. When everything is ready, use the "Power Up" option on the control panel to shoot the runes. All rows of pillars must have a rune energy shot through them.
There are three puzzles to solve in succession. With 3x3 and 4x4 pillar combinations, the control panel can also be used to change the position of the emitters, as they must be moved up and down due to the pillars gaining another row each time you complete a puzzle.
One tip for solving this puzzle is to try to line up one line of pillars successfully. This then limits your choice of how to arrange the remaining pillars to complete the puzzle. Remember to match colours. If you are successful beams of light will pass straight through the pillars, activating the next stage of the puzzle.
Before leaving the Cosmic room, use one of your Primed bars on the machine and operate it to get a Cosmic bar. Using the cosmic machine will drain your runecrafting level by 39. With the Cosmic bar go back to the workshop's main room (with the elementals) and use the bar on one of the workbenches with an anvil to make pair of Cosmic gloves (can only be made on elemental workshop anvils), since you will need them later on.
The Chaos RoomEdit Go back to the lowest level of the dungeon, but this time go into the room opposite the cosmic one. In the Chaos room go west where you will find a Shabby book on the table. Take it and read it.
On the south-east side of the machine there are a series of levers. The two on the south-facing wall operate the RAMs. The other four slide the conveyor belt either five steps or one step in either direction (the northernmost one is five steps counterclockwise, then one step counterclockwise, one step clockwise, five steps clockwise).
To operate the computer Davi must be given an instruction and an address, represented by two cubes in the CPU. Instructions are in order "get", "put", "break", and "operate". The addresses are the large stone slabs with rune symbols on them. Note that the astral slab is broken, so this must be fixed first.
You need to get the robot to retrieve a blank slab from the south-western corner and put it on the workbench so you can carve a new astral slab. You may need to 'get' multiple blocks from the shelves. Simply repeat the first two steps below changing the slab destination for Da-vi.
In order the instructions should be (Blocks can be placed on either side of the CPU):

Note: If you do not have the Cosmic gloves, you must go back to the Cosmic room, power up the machine again, and then put a primed bar on the table of the machine. When you power up the machine, it will be transformed into a cosmic bar, which you take upstairs to the anvils to make the gloves.
Use the other primed bar on the chaos machine to retrieve a chaos bar (this will drain your thieving level by 39 levels). Return upstairs and use the bar with the anvil to get Chaos boots (in order to make the boots you must have both the Notched and the Shabby book in your inventory or else a message will appear saying "You don't know how to work this bar yet").
Congratulations, Quest Complete!

- For the 3x3 puzzle, you can choose which section of the pillars to match up - though, again, there will only be one correct solution. Raise or lower the emitters as appropriate, and power up the machine again. The same method for solving the puzzle applies - line up one row of pillars correctly, then solve the remainder of the puzzle.
- The final section of this puzzle has 16 pillars with 3 different levels on each pillar. Lining up one row of pillars will again lead you to the right solution, and again raise or lower the emitters as appropriate. Power up the machine for a final time, and this will activate the drain machine near the operating panel
